Margate is an ideal place to visit if you want to do keep the kids busy and enjoy a wide variety of activities on the beautiful Kent coast.

Here are 10 fab things you could do:

Attend the Crab Museum Conservation fest

Learn about conservation efforts at the first ever Conservation Fest in collaboration with the Butterfly Trust. Kids will be able to learn how to protect our local wildlife, including the importance of our crustacean friends and the role Kent’s Magnificent Moths play in our ecosystem. There will be interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and crafts for kids to enjoy.

Participate in a wildlife photography workshop

This free wildlife photography workshop is hosted by ranger Jasmine of East Kent Birdwise. Kids will learn photography basics, including how to use a camera, and different techniques to capture the perfect shot.

Take part in an interactive theatrical adventure

Mysterrasaur is an interactive, dinosaur-themed performance at the Sarah Thorne Theatre in Broadstairs which promises to take kids on a mysterious journey through time.

Make and paint your own Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc Airfix model at the ever popular Hornby Museum on the outskirts of Margate. Participants will be taught the correct colours and take their artwork home on a stand.

See through animal eyes at the Powell-Cotton Museum

Get Bright-Eyed and Bushy-Tailed at the Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington.
